Available retaining frames:
- Retaining frame 360°:
For soft, medium-hard or fibrous sample materials we recommend the use of the retaining frame 360° as shearing is the most suitable size reduction principle.
- Retaining frame 180°:
Medium-hard, hard (up to Mohs hardness 4), and brittle samples are best pulverized by using the retaining frame 180° with grinding insert for sieves 180° as impact and shearing are the most suitable size reduction principles.

Cyclone-suction-combination for SR 300
The cyclone-suction combination is recommended for the homogenization of low density materials as the air jet which is generated improves discharge of the sample from the grinding chamber.
Moreover, the sample is cooled which is particularly beneficial for heat-sensitive materials.

Rotor Types:
- Standard rotor:
Due to the small grinding gap it generates particularly strong shearing forces which is beneficial for pulverizing, e. g. fibrous materials.
- Distance rotor:
For heat-sensitive, slightly fatty samplesr. The larger grinding gap ensures reduction of frictional heat, thus preventing blocking of the sieves or the rotor.
