Webinar: Optimized sample preparation and analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances

From laboratory sample to analytical results: RETSCH, CEM and Shimadzu cover the complete process chain for analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

PFAS are a group of chemically and thermally resistant chemicals that are used in numerous products and everyday items thanks to their water- and grease-repellent properties. However, the substances pose a great danger to biological organisms due to their bioaccumulation and toxicity. Therefore, reliable monitoring of these substances in the environment is of great importance.

In three sessions, the practice-oriented online seminar gives a comprehensive overview of the possibilities of mechanical preparation and extraction and subsequent analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by LC-MS.

In the RETSCH part, we explain the importance of sample preparation for subsequent analysis and show ways to eliminate potential sources of error. Useful tips on the selection of the appropriate crusher or mill, the optimum accessories and the setting of the correct grinding parameters round off the topic.
