ELTRA GmbH becomes part of the Scientific Division of the Verder Group

- ELTRA is a leading manufacturer of elemental analysers
- Founder and Managing Director Yiannakis Polemitis stays in the management


Vleuten (NL) / Haan, April 2012. The Verder group, a German-Dutch family-owned technology group, extends its portfolio in the laboratory market. Since March 2012, ELTRA GmbH, located near Duesseldorf, is part of the group’s scientific division. The company, which was founded in 1981, is a leading manufacturer of elemental analysers and achieved a turnover of 11 million Euros in the business year 2011. At their headquarters near Duesseldorf, ELTRA employs 35 highly qualified people who are in charge of development, final assembly and testing of the analysers. ELTRA also has a production site in Bucharest, Romania, with 40 employees.

“We are particularly happy that the founder and Managing Director of ELTRA, Mr Yiannakis Polemitis, will stay in the management in the coming years and will join us in advancing ELTRA”, says Andries Verder, managing partner of the Verder Group.

As part of the Verder laboratory division, ELTRA particularly profits from the international sales and marketing strength of the group with activities in more than 80 countries. Dr. Juergen Pankratz, head of the laboratory division and managing Director of RETSCH GmbH in Haan (near Duesseldorf) will be in charge of the newly acquired company. The premises and the brand name ELTRA will be kept.

Starting with combustion analysers for carbon and sulfur determination ELTRA has extended its product range over the years with analysers for oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen. The company has been continually increasing its world market share with high-quality instruments at affordable prices. Customers come from industries such as steel, automotive, aviation and mining.
